Ruben Maes is a frequent presenter and moderator. He chairs discussions, seminars and multi-day conferences both in The Netherlands and abroad. Over the past decade, Ruben has worked for a great range of clients; European institutions, ministries, municipalities, educational institutions, multinational corporations and cultural institutions. Ruben’s style is characterized by a combination of journalistic acuity and a sense for the atmosphere of a meeting. He is extremely skilled in the substantive involvement of the audience, without losing the thread of the conversation. He prefers not to be just the moderator, but to actively contribute to the structure and content of the meeting.
Ruben received a master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Amsterdam. After finishing his studies, he worked at a research institute providing strategic advice for campaigns. He also worked freelance for Business News Radio (BNR) and he was an editor of PM The Hague. In 2003, Ruben founded his own firm under the name &MAES.
